Privacy Policy

This website is a private hobby project. It processes as little data as possible: no tracking, no analytics, no advertising networks and no content loaded from third-party servers.

Visiting the site

Loading a page transmits technically necessary data that the server logs: IP address, time, requested address, status code, amount of data transferred, and browser and operating system identifiers. These logs serve operation and defence against attacks (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, legitimate interest in running the site reliably) and are overwritten after a few days. The server is located in Germany.

Contact form and email

What you submit through the contact form — your name, email address, message and optionally the breed you are asking about — is stored in order to answer your enquiry. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR where the enquiry concerns obtaining birds, and Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR otherwise. The data is deleted once the enquiry has been dealt with and no retention obligations apply.

Notification of new enquiries is forwarded to our mailbox, which is hosted at Google (Gmail). The data above is therefore transmitted to Google Ireland Limited and possibly to Google LLC in the United States, on the basis of the European Commission's standard contractual clauses and Google's certification under the EU-US Data Privacy Framework. If you would rather avoid this, please write to us by post.

Cookies

Opening the contact form sets a single, strictly necessary cookie. It holds nothing but the time at which the form was loaded and is used to recognise automated submissions. No consent is required for it (§ 25(2)(2) TDDDG). No other cookies are set.

Encryption

The site is served over HTTPS only, so everything you enter is encrypted in transit.

Your rights

You have the right to access, rectification, erasure, restriction of processing and data portability, and the right to object to processing based on legitimate interests (Art. 15 to 21 GDPR). An informal message to the address above is enough.

You may also lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority; ours is the Landesbeauftragter für Datenschutz und Informationsfreiheit Mecklenburg-Vorpommern, Lennéstraße 1, 19053 Schwerin, Germany.
